Ina Yvonne Bryant Parr, 84, of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, June 5, 2026, at her residence.
Born in Patterson October 18, 1941, she lived in Pierce County all her life. She began working at the movie theater in Blackshear when she was 12 years old under the management of Duke Raulerson. It was when Raulerson opened Raulerson’s ACE Hardware a few doors down from the theater that her life-long career in bookkeeping began. Over the years she would handle secretarial work and bookkeeping among many other duties until Raulerson sold the store to Farmer’s & Builders. Retirement for her brought time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as traveling, working in her yard, and doing crossword puzzles.
She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Blackshear where she had been active in the Alathean Sunday school class and the WMU until her health began to decline. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be dearly missed by them all.
She was a daughter of the late Charles Jefferson “Jeff” and Mary Magdalene Cook Bryant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mack Hampton Parr Sr. and by her sister, Wannell Gillis.
Survivors include her two sons and daughter-in-law, Mack Hampton “Hamp” Parr Jr. and Jeffrey and Jenny Parr, all of Blackshear; her brother, Charles (Deborah) Bryant, Blackshear; three grandchildren, Jey (Jamie) Parr, Jarrett Parr, and Jenna (Caleb) Murphy; two great-grandchildren, Elsie Parr and Jack Parr and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, from the Pearson-Dial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Bill Young officiating.
Interment was in the Blackshear Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Satilla, 808 Evergreen Way, Waycross, GA 31501.
