Marlene Boyett Tomlinson, 93, of Blackshear, died Wednesday morning, June 3, 2026, at Harborview Pierce County after a short illness.
She was born in Pierce County to the late Quenton E. Boyett and Pearl D. Boyett Moore and lived in the Waycross area most of her life. She attended Ware Tech and worked at John Deere in Atlanta operating computers, worked as office manager for Stewart Sandwiches in Jacksonville, manager of Pearl Optical, then served as Bookkeeper for Mayo Brothers, was manager of Tip Top Bread Store in Waycross and owned and operated Tropical Fish Store in Alma. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and was a loving caring mother for children, siblings and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Quenton E. Boyett and Pearl D. Boyett Moore; step-father, Byron Moore; husband, William Richard Tomlinson; daughter, Vicky Lynn Vaughan; two grandsons, Eric Vaughan and Michael Jeffers; brothers-in-law, Fred Hester and John Cameron; brothers and sisters-in-law, Winona and W.R. Allen Jr., Julian and Betty Huggins, Frank and Kay Ratliff, Aldine and Anita Tomlinson and Kevin Tomlinson.
Survivors include two children, Jimmy Vaughan (wife Bernadette), Blackshear and Kathy Jeffers (husband Jon), Waycross; two grandchildren, Brian Vaughan (wife Janet) and Stephanie Ebersole (husband Phillip), all of Blackshear; six great-grandchildren, Caleb Walker, Taylor Dixon, Walt Jeffers, Chase Vaughan and Kammie Ebersole; two sisters, Betty Hester, Patterson, and Glenda Cameron, Blackshear; one brother, Charles Boyett (wife Kay), Waycross; niece, Beth Steverson; a special friend, Miguel Aldaba and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, June 5, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, from the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
