
John Harry Cameron Sr., 90, of Blackshear, died Wednesday evening, June 3, 2026, at his residence after a short illness.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Henry Cameron and Katherine Batty Cameron.
He lived most of his life in Chadds Ford, PA where he founded and operated John H. Cameron & Sons Air Conditioning, Heating, and Heat Pumps for over 30 years. He was an industry visionary, passionate about his craft and loved sharing his knowledge and skills.
He served as President of the Delaware County chapter of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America and served on the national board of directors, was a 32nd degree Mason, Shriner, Jester, a member of the St. Andrews Society and a member Lions Club, where he portrayed Santa Claus annually for 22 years in the Chadds Ford meadow. He was also a luxury custom homebuilder.
After retirement he made his home in Florida and later became a resident of Blackshear where he was a member of Blackshear First Baptist Church.
He enjoyed boating, playing golf and traveling. He was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles’ fan, and loved horses and dogs. He had an appreciation for good food and guilty pleasures, including ice cream and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Ron and John Jr.
Survivors include his wife and soulmate of 32 years, Glenda Boyett Cameron, Blackshear; one daughter, Heather Treml (Rick), Naples, FL; one son, Drew Cameron (Kim), Philadelphia, PA; daughter-in-law, Karen Cameron, Millsboro, DE; seven grandchildren, Jen Shaw (Gary), Chrissy Cintron (Tory), Amanda Wellbrock (Greg), Paige Cameron, Tyler Cameron, Madeleine Cameron and Holly Cameron; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Hester, Patterson; brother-in-law, Charles Boyett (Kay) of Waycross and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, June 7, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 8, from the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
