Early vote for runoffs starts Mon.

Ware County voters will have no local races to consider, but seven for national and statewide seats when early voting begins Monday, June 8 for the June 16 runoffs.

Voting for the runoffs will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, June 12 at the Ware County Board of Elections and Registration office, 408 Tebeau Street.

Voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 13 county locations the day of the runoffs. You did not have to cast a ballot for the May 19 General Primary to be eligible to vote in the runoffs.

Atop the list of runoffs for state and national office is the Republican nomination for governor between Burt Jones and Rick Jackson. Jones, the current Lt. Governor, led the primary voting 357,881-303,402.

The winner will face former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms in the General Election, Tuesday November 3. Bottoms easily won the Democrat nomination over Jason Esteves, 606,983-201,523, and five other challengers.

Also being contested will be the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate to face sitting Democrat Jon Ossoff in November. Current 10th District Congressman Mike Collins faces Derek Dooley, son of late Georgia football coach and athletics director Vince Dooley.

The other Republican runoffs are Lt. Governor, and Secretary of State, State School Superintendent and District 6 on the Public Service Commission.

Democrats will consider the seats for Lt. Governor, Secretary of State, First District Congressman, Commissioner of Labor and Commissioner of Insurance.
