WAYCROSS — Mrs. Rudy Corbitt Storey, age 77, of Pearson and Waycross, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at Satilla Hospice House following an extended
illness.
Mrs. Storey was born on February 3, 1949, in Pearson. Mrs. Storey made her home in Pearson and Waycross, and was the manager at Storey’s Furniture and Appliances
Storey
for many years. Mrs. Storey was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed yard work, flowers, traveling, and boating.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester and Theresa Corbitt; mother, Jean Corbitt Perkins; first husband, Ralph Mullis; brother, Billy Arnold; and stepson, John Lott Storey.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Storey, of Waycross; stepson, Jamie Storey, of Waycross; stepdaughter, Beth Storey Neale (Jay), of Watkinsville, Ga.; brother, Ron Arnold, of Pearson; closest friend, Pat Mullis, of Axson; several stepgrandchildren, step-greatgrandchildren and other relatives also survive.
A funeral service was held May 22 at Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson with the Rev. Edward Mathews officiating. Special music included “Amazing Grace,” and “How Great Thou Art.” The interment followed at Sweetwater Cemetery.
Pallbearers included Jay Neale, Hayden Neale, Coleman Neale, Bren Mullis, Jamie Storey, and Darrell Thomas.
Relihan Funeral Home of Pearson was in charge of the arrangements.
