‘Branching Out’ part of Cancer Walk event

BLACKSHEAR — Brantley County’s “Branching Out” team were part of Friday’s Southeast Georgia Cancer Walk. The group has been a part of the Cancer Walk for 22 years. “Branching Out” is used in referencing to branch out from just Brantley to fight cancer wherever they can. Pictured are (lr) Freida Jacobs, Romie Dowling, Arlen Lattanzie, Michele Gibson, Linda Henderson, Breanna Lattanzie and Linda’s twin brother, Larry Lee.The event, which has been held for years at the old Blackshear High School track behind the Pierce County Board of Education building, was moved indoors to the Pierce County Recreation Department gym with the threat of weather in the forcast.
