SE Cancer Walk scheduled May 29 

The Southeast Cancer Walk will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, May 29 at the Tiger Field track, 834 Main Street, Blackshear.

Originally scheduled for Friday, April 24, the event was postponed due to the ongoing wildfire in nearby Brantley County and smoky conditions in the area.

Plans for the rescheduled event remain the

same.

Tompkins holds town hall on Sat.

District 4 Waycross City Commission member William Tompkins will hold a town hall meeting at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 30 in the Waycross-Ware County Public Library, 401 Lee Avenue.

The meeting is open to the public with residents of District 4 encouraged to attend.

Charlie Giving Back sets food giveaway 

Charlie Giving Back community outreach will stage a food giveaway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 30 at E.E. Moore Park.

The first 300 will be served. Recipients need to bring boxes to carry away the items.

Pfaff honored for finance advisement 

Edward Jones financial advisor John Pfaff of Waycross was named among the 2026 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors in Georgia by Forbes-SHOOK in 2026.

To compile the 2026 rankings, SHOOK Research analysts conducted individual interviews with nominees.

Criteria that determined the final ranking included industry experience, best practices, compliance records and assets under care.
