WAYCROSS — Ms. Carol Jean Corbitt passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at her residence in Waycross.
She was born October 22, 1937, to the late David Berneche, Sr. and Florence Warthon McCarty in St. Paul, MN. She worked as a CNA at Baptist Village Retirement Communities. She loved spending time with all of her family and playing bingo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three of her children, Ann Berneche, Craig Berneche, and Brian Corbitt.
She is survived by her significant other, Johnny McBee of Waycross; three sons, Scott Berneche (Faye) of Jesup, Darren Corbitt of Waycross, and William Corbitt (Kim) of Askov, MN; 7 grandchildren; a brother, John Beneche, Sr. of St. Paul, MN; and numerous greatgrandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 26, at Music Funeral Home. Burial followed at Kettle Creek Cemetery.
