Dean ties for 21st at state tourney

SAVANNAH — Ware County’s Asher Dean tied for 21st here at the Savannah Golf Club representing the Gators’ golf program.

Dean, a senior, posted rounds of 74-82-156 to finish in a tie with Jones County’s Cash Bearden (77-79-156), St. Pius X’s Tyler Eichenberg (81-75156) and Allatoona’s Warren Autry (75-81-156) in the field of 82 golfers with 74 playing in both rounds.

Cartersville’s Bodie Brumlow, who led the Hurricanes to the state title, was medalist shooting an eight-under-par score of 65-69-134 on the Par 71 layout. Brumlow carded seven birdies in the first round with a bogey and followed with five birdies and two bogies in the second.
