Jill Clary, Pierce County’s new 4-H agent, was the guest speaker at last week’s Rotary Club meeting. Clary is a UGA graduate, originally from Cumming, she has been working with the Wayne County 4-H program for four years and is excited to lead the Pierce County program going forward. Clary gave an overview of the program’s 20252026 year which served 587 students–43% elementary, 51% middle school and 5% high school students. The program primarily focuses on ag education in the classroom for fifth and sixth grade. Seventh-12th graders meet monthly after school. The Club will take 33 campers to Camp Jekyll this summer. Program competition teams include the BB team, project achievement and CB&C Judging. Shown above (l-r) are Julie Walker, county administrative assistant with UGA Extension, Clary.
