WAYCROSS — A 23-year-old Blackshear man died from his injuries after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by another vehicle.
Isaiah Justice Bailey was traveling east riding a Kawasaki Vulcan on Ga. 520 near Sawdust Trail in eastern Ware County Saturday, May 16 when he was hit at approximately 8:57 p.m., from behind by a 2013 Toyota Tacoma driven by 24-year-old Austin Thomas Johnson of Pearson.
According to the report of Georgia State Patrol Trooper Dallas Harper, Bailey attempted to make a right turn onto Sawdust Trail from Georgia 520. Johnson’s vehicle struck the rear of the motorcycle with its front end.
Both came to an uncontrolled final rest on the right shoulder of Georgia 520 eastbound.
Bailey was transported by Ware County EMS to Memorial Satilla Health where he succumbed to his injuries.
Johnson and his passenger, 20-year-old David Flanders, were not injured in the accident.
The GSP Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT) is still investigating the accident.
