NAHUNTA — Darrell Smith, Sr., 47 of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
The Glynn County native and former resident of Brunswick was a Baptist. He was a concrete finisher with Smith and Sons Concrete Company and enjoyed
Smith, Sr.
automobile mechanics on the side.
Fishing, hunting, cooking were favorite pastimes but he loved to spend time with his grandchildren.
His parents, Emory Smith and Audrey Dubose preceded him in death along with his grandson, Sampson Spurlock.
Survivors are his wife of 28 years, Charlene Smith of Nahunta; two daughters, Rebecca (Joey) Spurlock and Heather Smith (Craig), both of Nahunta; two sons, Edward Johns of Nahunta and Darrell (Marissah) Smith, Jr. of Byron; grandchildren, Delilah, Angel, Addie, Weston, E.J., Colton, Jacob and Little Joe Lee; a brother, Emory Smith of Brunswick; a half-sister, Pam (Jack) Horne of Waverly; and several nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held by the family.
Rinehart and Sons Funeral Home of Jesup was in charge of arrangements.
