Granddaughter is one ‘tough cookie’

A few weeks ago, we were literally scared to death.

We got a phone call that our granddaughter, Aliya, had been in a really bad accident and was in the Brunswick hospital. Aliya and her older sister had been riding E bicycles. They crashed head on into each other.

I was scheduled to do an interview with News4jax about my photography that same day. I told them no matter what, that interview would have to wait until another day.

When we got to the Brunswick Hospital emergency room she was unresponsive. You could tell she had been bleeding from her nose and an eye. Her left arm and wrist were broken.

They (doctors and nurses) were getting a trauma helicopter ready to fly her to Savannah. It was almost more than we could take seeing her like this.

We actually thought we had lost her or were about to and a lot of prayers were going out.

Fast forward a couple of weeks and she has a cast on her arm, a patch on her eye, several fractures to her face. She is one tough cookie.

She acts like nothing is wrong and is doing fine. She has a good bit of healing to do, but she really is amazing with her toughness.
