Amanda Rochelle Smith, 37, of Blackshear, transitioned peacefully Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Atlanta.
Born in Blackshear July 30, 1988, she lived a life marked by quiet strength and grace, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew her.
Her journey began in her hometown where she blossomed into a remarkable individual. Throughout her life, she inspired those around her with her kindness and dedication. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of family, friends and community members who were privileged to share in her life’s moments.
With loving hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate her life and legacy whose vibrant spirit and loving heart touched all who knew her. She was born to Janice Smith and Herman Davis and was raised surrounded by the love and companionship of her family. From childhood, she was known for being outgoing, full of personality and bringing joy wherever she went.
She was a loving mother who devoted her life to caring for her children and providing for her family. She worked faithfully at United Egg Producers, where her hardworking spirit and determination were evident each day. She found happiness in the simple things in life, especially enjoying her coffee and spending time with those she loved most.
Though her earthly journey has ended, her memory and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving children, Chevy Shmar Godwin and Zimya Kapree Godwin; her devoted parents, Janice Smith and Herman Davis; her beloved siblings, Chesacha Smith, Marylin Smith, Cynthia Lockett, Octavia Davis, Kenneth Davis, Arias Davis, Steven Edgerton and Nathan White and a host of loving aunts, uncles, other relatives and sorrowing friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Her departure leaves a profound void, yet her spirit endures through the memories and love that remain. She is remembered with deep respect and affection by all who had the honor of knowing her. May her soul find eternal peace, and may her legacy inspire strength and compassion in all who follow.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 29, at the funeral home, 505 Ware Street, Blackshear.
