James Robert ‘Robbie’ Murray

James Robert “Robbie” Murray, 65, of Blackshear, passed away Saturday afternoon, May 23, 2026, at his son’s home, following an extended illness. He was surrounded by his family.
Born July 16, 1960, in Jacksonville, Florida, he was a son of the late James Franklin “Frank” and Scecila Boyett Murray. A lifelong resident of Pierce County, he attended Blackshear High School and worked as a millwright, boilermaker, carpenter and mechanic and kept his family’s vehicles, mowers, golf carts, four wheelers and other small engine equipment running.
A loving, caring, and great dad, brother and grandfather, he loved spending time with his family and cooking (and was an awesome cook) and having family cookouts. He also loved fishing and hunting.
He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia A. Jones Murray; a brother, Ricky Murray and a brother-in-law, Terry M. Walker.
Survivors include three sons, James B. “Jamie” Murray (Amy), Shelby Murray (Alyssa) and Ethan Murray; three daughters, Amanda Murray (Dakota), Misty Davlin and Christy Kelly (Gina); sister, Andrea Murray Walker; brothers, Randy White and Jackson White; niece, Casey Hunt; nephews, Jesse Walker and Coy White; grandchildren, Andrew, Ashlyn, Wyatt, Deacon, Emerson, Gauge, Dakota, Jade, Curtis, Zoey, Briana, Ethan, McKinley and Paxton; several great-grandchildren and many other close extended family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 29, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Cemetery in Patterson.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made for the care of his son, Ethan (In care of Jamie Murray), 3633 Big House Road, Blackshear, GA 31516.
