Phyllis Kay Padgett Lane

Phyllis Kay Padgett Lane, 74, of Blackshear, passed away Sunday morning, May 24, 2026, at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, following an extended illness.
Born April 24, 1952, in Alma, he was a daughter of the late E.D. Padgett and Myrtice Pittman Padgett-Leggett. She grew up in Bacon County and was a graduate of Bacon County High School. She lived most of her adult life in Pierce County and retired following 27 years as a medical transcriptionist at Satilla Regional Medical Center and Mayo Clinic in Waycross (now Memorial Satilla Health).
She attended Pine Grove Baptist Church and attended the Women’s Sunday School Class. She was always quick to volunteer to help where needed and was an encouragement to those around her.
She was a loving wife and mother and thoroughly enjoyed and loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching football and cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs and enjoyed Disney World and anything Cinderella.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, Donnie Padgett, David Padgett and Danny Padgett.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Harry W. Lane Sr., Blackshear; two sons, Harry W. Lane Jr., Palatka, FL and Scott Lane (wife Brandi), Nashville; five grandchildren, Bryce Lane, Palatka, McKenzie Zaleski of Alabama and Maddox Lane, McKayla Lane and Isabella Lane, all of Nashville; a great-granddaughter, Riley Jo Zaleski; two sisters, Elizabeth Padgett Henry, Green Cove Springs, FL and Sherry Padgett Mitchell, Waycross; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Betty Lane, Blackshear and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, from the chapel of Hart Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Waycross.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to the Southeast Cancer Unit, P.O. Box 667, Blackshear, Georgia 31516.
