Early voting closes Friday, May 15 at the Ware County Board of Elections and Registration for next week’s General Primary.
A total of 1,052 people in Ware County cast ballots through the first two weeks of advance voting for Election Day, Tuesday, May 19, said Supervisor of Elections Carlos Nelson.
Of that total, 979 have come in person with 73 absentee.
Voting continues at the board office, 408 Tebeau Street, through 5:30 p.m. Friday. County voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
All absentee ballots also must be delivered to the election office by the close of the polls Tuesday.
Voting began April 27 and included two Saturdays in addition to weekdays. There were 533 votes cast in person and by absentee ballot during the first early six-day week.
There only are two contested local races along with a question on construction of a perimeter road through the county’s southern portion. The local races involve the seat for District 3 on the county commission and the District 6 post on the board of education.
Republicans Jonathan Daniell and Raylan Guy are vying for the commission while the non-partisan school race pits incumbent Brandi Waters against former seat-holder Dee Meadows.
