BLACKSHEAR — Warren Dale Fox, 88, of Blackshear, died Thursday evening, April 23, 2026, at UF Health in Jacksonville, Fla. after a brief illness.
Fox was born in Iowa City, Iowa to the late David B. Fox and Myrtle A. Hartsock. He had made Blackshear his home for many years. He was the owner and operator of Fox Sign Company and worked for Southern Bell, AT&T, and MIG before retirement.
Fox enjoyed fishing, working on his property, spending time with his beloved dog “Zoey” and playing golf, especially at the Okefenokee Golf and Country Club where he was a longtime member.
In addition to his parents, Fox also was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Jordan Fox; a great grandson, Cameron Peacock; and a sister, Jeanette Madison.
Fox is survived by his two daughters, Donna O’Berry and Debra Peacock, both of Waycross; four grandchildren, Amy Smith, Jennifer O’Berry, Jessica Peacock, and Jaimie Peacock; 10 great grandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service was held May 11 in Oakland Cemetery.
