Exchange Club’s Young Citizenship Program recognizes local students

Special to the WJH The Exchange Club of Waycross recognized a distinguished group of local students during its weekly meeting Thursday, May 7.

The event was part of the Club’s Young Citizenship Program, a long-standing initiative that highlights exemplary character, leadership, and responsibility among area youth.

The Young Citizenship Program is one of the Exchange Club’s signature youth initiatives, designed to encourage students to model strong character and contribute positively to their schools and community.

State Representative James Burchett presented Young Citizenship medals to each honoree, commending the students for their integrity, work ethic, and positive influence in their schools and community.

The program emphasizes qualities such as honesty, service, and respect for others—core values of the Exchange Club’s mission. The meeting closed with Ethan Ebersole leading attendees in the Pledge to the Flag, setting a fitting tone for a ceremony centered on citizenship and civic responsibility.
