Carolyn Virginia Griffin Pittman

Carolyn Virginia Griffin Pittman, 83, of Waycross, passed away early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026, at her residence.
Born in Waycross  March 28, 1943, she lived in Ware County all her life She was a Manor High School graduate and would go on to work at a sewing factory then later for Brockway in Homerville. She had spent the last several years being a homemaker. She loved cooking for her family, gardening and shopping.  She dearly loved her family and enjoyed every minute she got to spend with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith.
She was a daughter of the late Okie Matthew and Esther O’Niel Griffin.  She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dollie Ruth White and a brother, Curtis Griffin.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Gerald Pittman, Waycross; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Al Denmark, Waycross; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Rose Pittman, Manor and Wayne and Teresa Pittman, Blackshear; a former daughter-in-law, Amanda Boyd, Manor; a sister, Louise Hodges, Waycross; three brothers, Matthew Griffin, Waycross, James (Janelle) Griffin, Jesup, and Jack Griffin, Waycross; a sister-in-law, Paula Griffin, Waycross; 16 grandchildren, Dannon Pittman, Zach (Brooklyn) Pittman, Shelbie (Justin) Spencer, Jesse (Kaylan) Pittman, Will (Katie Beth) Thrift, Clay James, Kelly (Timmy) Manac, Brice Denmark, Brett (Paige) Denmark, Taylor (Kyra) Denmark, Wayne (Stephanie) Pittman Jr., Chris Pittman, Rachel (Garrett) Daniel, Samantha (Aaron) Cerda, Brad (Tasha) Fitzgerald and Brandon Pittman; 30 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild with three more on the way and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 10, at the funeral home.
An additional visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at the Suwanee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, from the Suwanee Chapel Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Dwayne Tanner and Al Denmark officiating.
Interment will be in the Suwanee Chapel Cemetery.
