JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Mr. Edwin Kenneth Boatright, 85, passed away Wednesday morning, April 29, 2026, at HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.

He was born August 24, 1940 in Alma, to the late Edward Deen Boatright and Idell Minchew Boatright. Boatright was employed as a car salesman for more than 35 years by multiple dealerships, and he retired as the owner and operator of B&B Rental Company, where he managed multiple properties. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and he enjoyed serving his fellow man through church programs, especially “Christmas in April.” He volunteered for the Boy Scouts of America and once served as Scout Master. Boatright was a hard working man who enjoyed making money.

In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Betty Gayle Baxter Boatright; and his daughter, Crystal Michelle Boatright.

Survivors include his children, Edwin Kenneth Boatright II of St. Mary’s, Tina Walker (Leonard Jr.) of Lawrenceville, Ga., Cindy Altman (Steve) of Waycross, and Ginger Roberson of Waycross; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; siblings, Katherina Boatright, Patricia Dutton, Deena Boatright, Andrea Boatright, retired Capt. Greggory Boatright, Bruce Boatright, and Robbie Boatright; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held May 2 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints followed in Rose Hill Cemetery in Alma. Music Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
