Mother’s Day dinner set May 10 Greater Mount Zion Church will hold a “Queen of My Heart” Mother’s Day dinner Sunday, May 10 at the Stephen’s Venue, 773 Ossie Davis Parkway.
Tickets are $50 for adults and $20 for children ages 12-under. There will be two seatings for the dinner, 1-3 p.m. and 3:305:30 p.m.
The dinner will be banquet- style with choice of two-three meats as well as a variety of sides and beverages. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (912) 285-8011 with tickets available by calling 283-5908.
The event will feature a “First Ladies” stroll, oldest queen recognition and recognition for the generational queen with the most children present.
Aglow Lighthouse meets Saturday Waycross Aglow Lighthouse meets at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 9 at Our Beloved Church, Bethesda Ministries, 700 Osceola Avenue.
Guest speaker will be Brad Tootle of Jesup, who’ll share his powerful testimony. Tootle was taken from death while in a homosexu a l lifestyle to deliverance and true life through the blood of Jesus Christ.
His passion now is to watch people who have a misinterpretation of who they identify as being like crossing a bridge into the true identity God says they are. Among his favorite scriptures is Romans 2: 4, which says God’s kindness leads us to repentance.
He will be sharing many more scriptures that have changed his life.
River of Life starts resource program River of Life Church, 1439 Brunel Street, offers a community resource center from 10 a.m. to noon, the fourth Friday of each month.
The River Missions program will offer practical life skills, hot meals, clothing and more. Next session is May 22.

Joseph’s Pantry adds May giveaway Joseph’s Pantry, a ministry of The Pentacostals of Waycross, has altered its distribution schedule for Ware County residents to include an additional Saturday in May.
Following the first giveaway May 2, others will be available from 9:30 to 11 a.m., May 16 and 30. Those accepting items must show a valid ID.
The ministry will return to its normal schedule of the second and fourth Saturdays next month (June 13 and 27).

Antioch Baptist sets Family, Friends Historic Antioch Baptist Church, Inc., 615 Knight Avenue will hold its annual Family and Friends service at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 17.
Theme for the program is: “Rooted in Faith, Grounded in Love.” Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church is the guest church and the pastor, the Rev. Jackie Hooper will deliver the message.

Way of Cross EPC has food giveaway Way of the Cross EPC holds a free food and clothing giveaway at 8 a.m. the first Saturday of each month at 512 Lee Avenue.
People should bring a bag or box for items. The first-come, first-served giveaway will next be held May 2.
