Pierce Countians are good neighbors, who are generous, caring and kind.
Let's all pitch in and help out our neighbors in need.
The Blackshear Times is sponsoring a collection drive for supplies needed to help our Brantley County friends recover from the devastating wild fires in the Atkinson community in recent weeks. Some families have lost their homes and all their possessions.
The Times is currently accepting donations of clothes, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes and other hygeine items to assist those displaced by the ongoing wildfires. Books and toys to entertain any children displaced by the fires are also welcome.
Cleaning supplies, non-perishable food supplies and monetary donations will also be accepted.
Please drop items off at 126 NW Central, Blackshear GA.
Donations will be collected here at The Times and will be distributed in Brantley County at the following locations: ▪ Brantley Gas at 114 Satilla Ave, Nahunta, which is accepting new or gently used clothing, hangers, hygiene items, and empty totes with lids.
▪ H&S Haulers at 125 Industrial Park, Nahunta, which is collecting nonperishable food and pet supplies.
▪ Brantley County Family Connections at 10305 Main Street, Nahunta, is also taking donations.
