Rainy weather put some ‘toes in the water’ at concert in park
Local music lovers braved the rain to turn out for the 2026 Beats and Eats concert in Blackshear City Park, sponsored by the Better Hometown/Mainstreet organization. Shown above, 20 Ride, a Zac Brown tribute band, headlined this year’s concert. They performed their own renditions of the Georgia-based Brown’s many popular hits, including “Chicken Fried”, “Colder Weather” and “Toes”. Speaking of toes, a few were probably in the water at the event with a broken water main in the park earlier that day and rain during the performance later in the evening. Neither deterred the crowd or the band and the show went on. Shown below, listeners waited in line for event favorites like smashburgers, hotdogs and other treats. Many in attendance said they were just glad the area was finally getting some rain after the months-long drought conditions and prayed for quick end to the recent wildfires.
