New 4-H agent Clary and new county agent Bennett begin work in Pierce

Jill Clary has been named as Pierce County’s new 4-H agent.

Clary began work May 1 and comes to Pierce County from Wayne County 4-H, where she served as 4-H Educator for 3 1/2 years.

She will fill the vacancy left by Billie Ann King who stepped down earlier this year.

Clary is a graduate of South Forsyth High School and the University of Georgia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human development and family science and will graduate with her master’s degree in agricultural leadership, education and communication next month.

She and her husband, Aaron, have an eight-month-old daughter, Scottie Mae.

New county agent John Bennett also began work May 1.

Bennett will take over for James Jacobs who retired last November.

Bennett comes to Pierce County from Wilcox County. He has been the county agent there since 2020. Bennett is a graduate of Coffee County High School, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton. He also holds a holds a Master of Plant Protection and Pest Management from the University of Georgia in Athens.

Bennett and his wife, Breanna, have a daughter, Olivia.
