The Blackshear Police Department (BPD) recently used its share of a charitable grant from WoodmenLife to Pierce County first responders to purchase new bullet resistant vests. WoodmenLife Chapter 477 donated $25,000 to the city of Blackshear. BPD purchased the potentially life saving vests to help protect its officers. Blackshear Fire Department used their share of the funds to purchase new nozzles and other equipment. Shown above, BPD Corporal Mac Callahan wears one of the recently arrived bullet resistant vests.
