WAYCROSS — Mr. Richard Thomas Youmans, 72 of Waycross, passed away at his home Thursday morning, April 30, 2026.
Born June 2, 1953 in Blackshear, Youmans lived in Pierce and Ware counties all his life. He served in the U.S. Army and was a tanker out of Fort Knox.
Youmans worked in construction all his life and was a master builder/contractor. He went on to become a project manager for Vicon Construction.
Over the years, Youmans built numerous homes in Pierce and surrounding counties. He was a bottle collector and enjoyed antiquing and old treasures.
Youmans also enjoyed fishing and reading. He was a proud father and instilled in his children his knowledge and his gifts. Youmans loved the Lord and his family very much and will be dearly missed by them all.
He was a son of the late Odis Oden and Alease Violet Brooker Youmans, Sr. Youmans was also preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Jordan Spivey; five sisters, Mary Macias, Lillian Wainwright, Hazel Inez Hendrix, Maude Lee Gaines and Beryl Dixon; and all seven of his brothers, Robert, Meridith, David, Odis, Jr., Billy, Sherron and Jonathan.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Tonya Gail Williams Youmans of Waycross; two daughters, Miranda (Horace) Whitley and Vicky Violet Youmans both of Blackshear; a son, Richard Allan “Ricky” (Debra) Youmans of Blackshear; a sister, Carolyn Walker of Blackshear; a sister-inlaw, Yvonne Douberly of Waynesville; seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who were all dearly loved.
A graveside service for Youmans was held Monday afternoon, May 4, 2026 from the Waters Cemetery.
