
Vonnis Boatright, 87, of Brunswick, passed away Friday, May 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
She was born on February 1, 1939, in Alma, to the late Earnest Marion “Doc” Boatright and Jessie Middleton McCarthy. She was also preceded in death by her seven brothers and two sisters.
She shared a remarkable 67 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Fred Stanley Boatright, who survives her in Brunswick.
She is also survived by her daughter, Marie Veronica Southerland (Robert Lee Southerland Jr.), Azle, Texas; her grandchildren, Katherine Marie Ormont (Joe), Dallas, TX, and Michael Kenneth Rockwood (Jene), Dallas, TX; and her six great-grandchildren, Mikayla Marie Rockwood, Leander, TX and Ethan Michael Ormont, Leo Wesley Ormont and Quinn Elise Ormont, Luke Joseph Rockwood and Lauren Elizabeth Rockwood, all of Dallas, TX; step great-grandchildren, Riley Nicole Darc Angelo and Caleb Michael Southerland, both of Bainbridge; her sister-in-law, Bearnese Boatwright Hasty (Glenn), Jacksonville, FL; her brother-in-law, Cecil LaDell Williams, Waverly and several nieces and nephews.
She was well known and deeply loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warmth, strength and devotion to her family will be remembered always.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick.
