Ware County High School’s tennis programs posted first round victories together for the first time since 2022 with home victories.
The Region 1 champion Lady Gators downed Region 8 fourth-seed Flowery Branch 3-0 Monday, April 20 recording their first post-season victory since a 2023 run to the “Elite 8” capping a threeyear run of first round victories.
Ware County will host Region 7 runner- up Cartersville in the second round. No date or time has been announced.
The Lady Hurricanes beat Region 4 third-seed Jackson-Atlanta 3-0.
The Region 1 runner-up Gators turned back Region 8 third-seed Eastside 3-1 Tuesday, April 22 for their first post-season win since 2022. Ware County travels to Region 7 champion Cedartown in Round 2. No date or time has been announced.

Ware County captured two singles with the third win coming in doubles action.
Bailey Denton posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 1 singles. Paislee Wildes notched a 7-6, 6-0 decision at No. 3.
The No. 1 doubles tandem of Kayleigh LeMay and Gracie Vickers sealed the win with a 6-2, 6-2 decision.
Elly Blackrick at second singles and the No. 2 doubles team of Addie Bishop and Ella Beth Cox had their matches pulled.
Gators 3 Eastside 1
The Gators also captured two victories in single action with the third coming in a doubles match.
JV Manabat notched a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles. Miles Smith overcame a one-set deficit rallying for 1-6, 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Cash Carter and Landon Lingenfelter teamed up at No. 1 doubles for a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
