Dr. Alsean R. Bryant, a Waycross native and 2004 Ware County High School graduate, has been included in Florida A&M University’s “40 under 40” list of distinguished alumni for 2025.
Bryant, the son of Carlethia R. Bryant, is a 2010 graduate of FAMU. He is a pharmacist and Senior Medical Scientist at Gilead Sciences.
The 2025 honorees represent leaders from a wide range of industries, including education, healthcare, business, technology, law, media and public service. This annual recognition celebrates the outstanding achievements of young alumni who have made significant impacts in their professions, communities and alma mater.
Dr. Bryant is a health equity advocate, and creative visionary working at the crossroads of medicine and music. In his position with Gilead Sciences, he advances HIV education across the Southeast U.S.
Dr. Bryant was recognized as Gilead’s Alvan Fisher MSL Rookie of the Year.
Previously, he launched a pharmacist-led PREP clinic in the Washington D.C. Metro Area to expand HIV prevention services in underserved communities.
As a past president of the Washington, D.C. Pharmacy Association, Dr. Bryant championed legislation to elevate pharmacists’ role in patient care. He also is a contributing author of “I Wear A White Coat,” sharing his journey from South Georgia to pharmacy leadership.
Beyond public health, Dr. Bryant has released more than 30 original songs synced with ABC, BET, and other avenues.
