Hello! Here is the news for the week.

***** Mother’s Day is coming. Let’s get ready for this big day of celebrating our mothers. ***** To the family of Mrs. Mary Robertson: Giles and Agnes family: You have our condolences. Your family is in our prayers. Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.

Matthew 5: 4 ***** Session Hill Community Center will be having Mother’s Day Brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 2. The center is located at 3105 Allen Ave., Blackshear. Keynote speaker is Waycross City Commissioner Katrena Felder. Women are asked to wear their hats or fascinators and pastel colors. We are asking for a $15 donation. Session Hill Community Committee is the host for the brunch. Come join us to celebrate with our mothers. For more information, contact Bertie Allen at 912-282-7473. ***** Zion Missionary Baptist Church will have its Woman’s Day service at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 3. The church is located at 526 Lee Street, Blackshear. The guest speaker at the event will be Dr. Sandra C. Gadsden who imparts the Word with joy of the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Dr. Gadsden has been in the ministry for 40 years. She is the founder and CEO of SCG Ministries, which provides mentorship to Broken Women. She is a graduate of Florida A&M University and received her master’s in theology from Zoe University and an honorary doctorate from the Jacksonville Theological Seminary. She is the retired supervisor of pastoral care at UF Health in Jacksonville, FL and is a board certified chaplain. She is a member of the North Jacksonville Church of God.

Dinner will be served. Pastor Jimmie L.R. Green and Pastor Sandra M. Green are the host pastors. ***** Pastor Morris Pate and the Fourth Mount Olive Church family warmly invite everyone to their Family and Friends Day Celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, The church is located at 900 Yeomans Street, Blackshear.

“We are raising funds in support of our ministry, and all love and support are truly appreciated. Dinner will be served immediately following the service,” said a church member. “We would be honored by your presence as we come together in worship and fellowship. Join us as we celebrate being Connected by Love and Strengthened by Faith.” Pastor Morris Pate is the pastor.

***** Session Hill Community Center thanks the Citizens of Georgia Power for planting dogwood trees on Earth Day. Brent James, area manager, Gene Frye, engineer, Devin Ruiz, field estimator and Jacob Jeffords, distribution supervisor, all came out to help plant trees. We are grateful to them.

***** Pierce County Concerned Citizens monthly meeting is held every first Monday of each month at 623 Sycamore Street, Blackshear. ***** Everyone is invited to worship with us at Faith Temple Holiness Church Inc, 218 Hall Street, Blackshear. Services as follows: 1st Sunday early service is at 8:30. Breakfast will be served. Services will be every Sunday 2nd, 3rd and 4th Sunday. All are welcome. ***** Kingdom Faith Church has services every Sunday at 10 a.m. and Bible Study every Tuesday at 6 p.m. Kingdom Faith is located at 6014 Homestead Road in Blackshear. Elder Tony Reynolds is the pastor. ***** Your entire family is invited to worship with Fourth Mount Olive Church during weekly worship services. We are located at 900 Yeomans Street, Blackshear. We are blessed to be able to provide opportunities for all to learn how to love God and each other as we worship God our Father, Jesus Our Savior and the Holy Spirit our Comforter and Guide.
