REIDSVILLE — Pierce County High School’s Lady Bears and Bears track teams will send eight individuals and four relay teams to the Class 2A Sectional B meet following the sixteam Region 3 meet here Thursday at Tattnall County High School.
The top four finishers earned berths to the Saturday, May 2 meet at East Jackson High School in Commerce. Also participating will be representatives from Regions 2, 3, 4 and 8 will be represented.
The Lady Bears are sending three thinclads led by shot put region champion Sarah Minott. She also qualified in the discus during the April 23 region event.
She will be joined by Zanyria Monroe, who qualified in both the 300-meter hurdles and high jump, and Dominque Hightower in the 100m hurdles. The Lady Bears also had all four relay teams qualify in the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m and 4x800m.
The Bears had five individuals with Omar Jinks qualifying in both the 100m and 200m events. Brandon Yepes will run in the 1,600m, Amir McKenzie will compete in the high jump, Jaylen Clark in the triple jump and Leland Williams in the discus.
