WayGreen Local Fare Market is set to host its grand opening at its new location at WayGreen House, 1929 Ben Hill Ave, from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, May 2.
The market, known for promoting local produce and goods, invites the community to shop local, eat fresh and build community.
Confirmed vendors for the grand opening include Backyard Alchemist, Crossroad Farms, Happy Hollow Homestead, Hall's Homestead, Silas Allen Farms, Simply Sweet Talk, Mr. Ricky's Beef Jerky, The Grain Gal, McCarthy Bodyworks, Nev Reads, Hooves To Freedom, and Waycross Ware Library.
Renowned Chef Matthew Raiford from Gilliard Farms will be the special guest, hosting live cooking demos where attendees can taste and purchase freshly prepared dishes. Chef Raiford was recently featured on the “African Soul’ episode of the Food Network program Chopped.
SNAP/EBT is welcome at the market. WayGreen doubles SNAP benefits on fresh food purchases up to $50.
