Wildfire relief event set for May 2

An event to help with South Georgia Wildfire relief will be held from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at 6014 Homestead Road, Blacskhear.

Free hot food will be served.

Donations and contributions are being accepted for wildfire relief. Items needed and distributed include blankets, bedding, care packs and hygiene products, toilet paper and paper towels, non-perishable food, bottled water and clothing.

The event is sponsored by the Community Outreach Coalition made up of Faith City Church, Kingdom Faith Church, Gathering of Warriors Fellowship, A Helping Hand Outreach and Zamar School of the Performing Arts.

A food distribution for Pierce and Ware County families will take place from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 2, at 6014 Homestead Road, Blackhsear.

Food will be distributed while supplies last.
