WAYCROSS — James Mitchell “Jimbo” Melton, 54 of Waycross, died Monday afternoon, April 20. 2026 at his residence after an extended illness.
Melton was born in Blackshear to the late James Alb ert Melton and Nora Johns ton Melton and made South Georgia his home for all his life.
He worked many jobs throughout his life, but most recently for K-Dug Construction and the City of Patterson. Melton was a social man who enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is survived by a son, Cameron Melton of Kentucky; two sisters, Elizabeth Aldridge and husband Timmy of Hoboken, and Linda Nelson of Waycross; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A visitation held Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Miles-Odum Funeral Home.
