NASHVILLE — Brantley County High School’s track program had seven individuals qualify for the Class A Sectional meet through Tuesday’s Region 1-A meet here at Berrien High School.
The top four finishers earned berths to the Saturday, May 2 meet at Bleckley County High School in Cochran. Also participating will be representatives from Regions 1, 2, 3, and 4.
The Lady Herons are sending four thinclads led by Mailey Thigpen’s third-placing showing in the discus at the April 21 meet. Jaelynn Evans (800-meters), Klara Barnes (1,600m) and Briar Cothern (100m hurdles) each logged fourth-place finishes for the final berths in their respective events.
The Herons’ Malachi Saunders captured the region crown winning the high jump leading three teammates with berths. Tallan Collins placed third in the event. Brayden Middleton posted a fourthplace finish in the 1,600m event.
