SHELLMAN BLUFF — Brantley County’s golf teams closed out their regular season with the Herons beating McIntosh County Academy by nine strokes.
BCHS shot 166 to the Bucs 175 here Monday, April 20 at Sapelo Hammock Golf Club. The Lady Herons shot a 91 in a practice round with MCA not fielding a girls’ team.
Brantley County participateed in the Tuesday, April 27 Area golf tournament in McRae at Little Ocmulgee Wallace Adams Golf Course.
Braxton Music and Memphis Stewart led the Herons with five-over-par scores of 41. Colton Johns, Matthew Dixon and Donavan Spurlock followed with rounds of 42.
MCA’s Garin Williford was medalist carving out an even-par round of 36.
The Lady Herons received a 40 from Avery Crews and
a 51 from Raeleigh Gibson and Emma Smith. Allie Gray posted a 53 and Kelsi Steedley a 60.
