Classic rock and country hits brought community members to their feet Friday night—despite the steamy weather. Better Hometown Blackshear's first Music in the Park event was headlined by The Salt-Water Gypseas, a musical group based out of Darien, and it is safe to say their Blackshear debut was a success. Concertgoers sang along to hits like 'That Ain't My Truck' by Rhett Akins and 'Don't Do Me Like That' by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Square dancing, food trucks and fellowship were also enjoyed. There will be one more Music in the Park event before summer rolls in: the Zac Brown tribute band 20 Ride is coming to this year's Beats & Eats festival on May 1 (see Page 2 for more pics and information on Beats and Eats).
