A Blackshear man has been arrested for alleged sexual exploitation of children.
Blackshear Police Department has arrested and charged Krupen Patel, 36, of Blackshear, with one count of sexual exploitation of children.
Patel was taken into custody April 14 following a joint investigation conducted by the Blackshear Police Department and Pierce County Sheriff's Office.
According to Blackshear Police Chief Chris Wright, the investigation was initiated after law enforcement received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material.
During the course of the investigation, Patel was found to be in possession of material classified as child pornography.
Patel was booked into the Pierce County Jail and is currently being held without bond.
