BICKLEY — Mr. Joseph Allen Rowell, of Bickley, died Thursday night, April 16, 2026, at his residence after an extended illness.
He was born in Ware County to the late Robert Rowell and Bessie Smith Rowell. A simple man, who loved farming and working in his yard, Rowell had made Ware County his home for his entire life.
Along with his parents, he also was preceded in death by his wife, Willie O’Berry Rowell; one daughter, Sherry Rowell; and five siblings, Jerry Rowell, Jim Rowell, John Rowell, Mary Manning and Rita Calvo.
Rowell is survived by three children, Benny Herrin and his wife, Laura, of Waycross, Michelle Rowell of Waycross, and Sheila Rowell of Waycross; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette McCarthy and her husband, Atley, of Waycross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
