WAYCROSS — Mrs. Linda Sue McCullar Harrison, 79, passed away Sunday evening, April 12, 2026, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born June 17, 1946, in Waycross to the late Jacob E. “Daddy Sparky” McCullar and Sue Nell Robinson McCullar. Mrs. Harrison was employed by the Florida Times-Union for 38 years, faithfully serving on a paper route. She was affiliated with the Pentecostal faith. Alongside her husband, she once owned and operated Harrison Greenhouses, where her well-known “green thumb” was evident to all who knew her.
Mrs. Harrison had a deep love for flowers and birds, and she found great joy in spending time at the beach, where she appreciated the peacefulness and calm of the water. She will be remembered as a strong, independent woman who loved fiercely and devoted herself to her family.
Mrs. Harrison is survived by her daughter, Pam Pittman of Waycross; her grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson of Louisiana and Corey Johnson (Nicole) of Patterson; her great grandchildren, Coen and Hunter Johnson of Patterson; her caregivers, Robert Pittman and Margie Chisholm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Thursday, April 16 in Oakland Cemetery.
