Expectant mothers who feel they have no hope, need help as well as various other resources are being aided by dedicated staff of Southeast Georgia Women’s Center.

Rhonda Sauls, among the volunteers at the facility, spoke about its impact on women in the area earlier this month at the monthly meeting of Waycross Aglow Lighthouse at Our Beloved Church.

The audience applauded the helpful efforts of Sauls and other volunteers who give of their time to “help women experiencing unexpected pregnancies.’’

The speaker described the many services available at the center, located at 2007 Tebeau Street. The services range from free pregnancy testing, counseling, parenting, baby’s material needs, medical, and treatment assistance.

“The center is a non-profit ministry with all of our income coming from fundraising events, individual donors, churches and businesses who partner with us by giving financially,” Sauls said. “ Your generous support will change the lives of the women/families in the counties we serve. Your gifts help women in an unplanned pregnancy and alter the direction of a child’s life forever.

Sauls said its mission is faith-centered.

“Our goal is to demonstrate Christ in every encounter we have,” she said. “Our services provide us with the opportunity to offer the truth of the sanctity of human life and the hope found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.

“One of our distinctions is that we care for each woman’s physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.”

The center serves Ware, Pierce, Bacon, Clinch and Brantley counties.

Local Aglow president Rosalind Eskew thanked Sauls and applauded her efforts, as well as other center volunteers’ dedicated work.

“We appreciate Rhonda and those willing to assist women facing difficult decisions in the birth and care of their babies.’’

The morning Aglow session featured Christian music and special prayer for those named. This fellowship meets the second Saturday every month.

Those interested in aiding the center’s mission may do so by sending monetary donations to SEGA Women’s Center, P.O. Box 303 Blackshear, 31516.

Baby supplies may be dropped off at the center.
