The Southeast Cancer Unit recently received a $2,000 donation from Waycross Bank & Trust ahead of its spring fundraising walk. Angie Murray with the Southeast Cancer Unit (left) accepts a check from WB&T representative Linda James. The April 24 event will begin at 6 p.m. at Tiger Field in Blackshear. The walk is more than steps — it’s about raising awareness of cancer — supporting patients and families, honoring survivors, and remembering those who’ve gone on. The unit is a community-driven nonprofit devoted to making a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer in Brantley, Pierce, and Ware counties.
