VALDOSTA — Lowndes High defended its home turf sweeping the six-team girls’ and boys’ meet Wednesday afternoon.
The Lady Gators totaled 30 points in the April 15 meet to finish sixth behind Lowndes (296.5), Brunswick (170), Valdosta (66.5), West Laurens (57) and Charlton County (51).
Nadya Ellis posted the Lady Gators’ best finish placing fourth in the 300-meter hurdles event.
The Vikings posted 174.5 points in winning the boys’ meet. Trailing Lowndes were Brunswick (148), Valdosta (142), West Laurens (138.5), Ware County (44) and Charlton County (40).
Adarius Brown posted the lone first-place performance winning the high jump event clearing the bar at 6-foot, 9 inches.
