Public Forum for candidates set for Sat., April 25 in Hoboken HOBOKEN — There will be a public forum at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 25 at the Hoboken Community Center for candidates seeking the District 4 and 5 seats on the Brantley County Commission.
The event, sponsored by Satilla Riverkeeper, 1st Congressional District Democratic Women and Gap House Ministry, hopes to bring together all candidates seeking those offices to make statements and take questions from the audience.
Each candidate will have the opportunity for a three-minute opening statement, with the order determined by a blind draw. A question-and-answer session will follow with the questions offered by the moderator from those submitted by attendees upon arrival.
Candidates then will have the opportunity for a five-minute closing statement.
Citizens United for Brantley Co. meeting Sat., April 25 at 1 p.m.
NAHUNTA — The Citizens United for Brantley County’s Future meeting scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at 1 p.m., has been changed to Honey Buns, 10738 N. Main Street in Nahunta.
Candidates for Brantley County Commission Post 4 and Post 5 will be available for interviews, as well as discuss important issues facing the county.
B.C. Republican Party hosting candidate discussion April 28 The Brantley County Republican Party will hold a “Meet the Brantley County Republican Candidates” Tuesday, April 28 at Honey Buns Cafe from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m.
Any candidate running on the Republican ticket is welcome to attend. Finger foods will be available.
Candidates wishing to participate in a brief question and answer session will choose a number at random. Questions will be sent to moderator Ronald Ham, Chairman, in advance. They will be randomly selected and asked to those candidates wishing to participate.
Topics will be recreation, roads, law enforcement, taxes, EMS, industry, volunteer fire department support, interactions with the cities and school system and much more.
Thornton to share ‘Growing up in Waynesville’ Tuesday, April 28 NAHUNTA — Mrs. Shirleen Thornton will be the featured speaker Tuesday, April 28 at the Senior Center located at 789 Burton Street in Nahunta.
Mrs. Thornton will talk from 10 a.m.11:30 a.m., about “Growing up in Waynesville”. Everyone is welcome and light refreshments will be served.
Waynesville Missionary Baptist homecoming, Spring Revival WAYNESVILLE — Waynesville Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating Homecoming Sunday morning, May 3, 2026.
We will have Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. Worship Service will begin at 11 a.m.
There will be a fellowship meal after the service.
Spring Revival Services begin Monday night, May 4 at 7 p.m., and will continue through Thursday night, May 7.
The guest speaker will be Brad Boynton. All are welcome to attend.
