The Okefenokee Heritage Center hosted the South Georgia Modern Quilt Guild at OHC Fiber Arts Exhibit during the month of March in the Fine Arts Gallery. An exhibit highlight was a display featuring the handiwork of Master Tatter and quilter Myrtie Highsmith in the Rotating Exhibits room. A reception for the artists was held on Sunday, March 22. Present were fiber artists (L-R) Michelle Roundtree, Melsenia Bartlett, Guild Chair Sarah Squires, Sarah Robst, Viki Guggenbickler, and Celine Clark. Mr. Lesley Highsmith (92) and his twin daughters, Regina King (L) and Tina Maddox (R), were thrilled and proud to see Mrs. Highsmith's lifelong work honored in the special display. Mr. and Mrs. Highsmith were married for 66 years. Tina Maddox is the graphic designer of the OHC logo featuring the iconic Waycross locomotive, Old Nine. SPECIAL PHOTO
