Mowing of the county’s road rights-of-way is slated to begin next week and residents are encouraged to be careful with placement of signs.
“We had a meeting with our new vendor, Tri Scape, and mowing is slated to begin soon,” said County Manager Thomas Sauls. “We are reminding business owners and candidates to be sure they do not place signs on public rights-of-way.”
Sauls said the signs will be removed and will be stored at the road department until they are claimed.
Tri Scape of Cumming was approved last year as the new contractor for mowing the county’s highway rights-of-way and will also provide litter pick-up for a total of $97,436.22 per year.
According to the contract, the mowings are to be done three times per year in June, August and October and are to cover the area from the road shoulder to the edge of the county’s rights-ofway. The county also added the litter pick up requirement for the new contract.
The county has approximately 420 miles of rights-of-way.
