NAHUNTA – Patrick G. Molle, a long-time resident and only Frenchman in Brantley County, passed away Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.

Molle was born in Aurillac, France and grew up on farms in Norm andy finishing his upper grades in Paris, France. In his early years, Molle learned a lot of trades that would serve him well in later years.

His main interest was medicine in which radiology became his field of expertise. Having trained under very high powered physician/professors, Molle became well known and was sought after for his expertise and dedication to the profession.

In 1978, Molle decided to embark on a new adventure, which was to come to the United States. Knowing no English to start with, he commenced to learn about boat building, as sailing was a long time passion.

Like everything in life, Molle became very proficient and was in charge of building large commercial boats, and on the side, he built his own sailboat from scratch, meaning he made the mold and everything by himself.

From boat building, he went into construction, learning everything from the ground up, culminating in the interior construction and preparation of 17 Publix stores, amongst many other things. After retirement, Molle’s favorite job was boat salvage and marine materials sales.

He designed and built his home here in Nahunta. It is a Swiss chalet design. Everyone laughed at the steep roof which turned out to be good, as in the last 10 years we have had snow and ice that damaged property, but not the house.

Molle could be counted on for good conversations on any subject, as he had many work experiences and was very well read. He knew history, including American history, very well and how it affected politics and life in general and could make you really think about what was coming.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, and family in France and in the U.S.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
