Pastor Anthony Mark Cardwell, former minister at the Victory Baptist Church of Blackshear, passed away early Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026. He was 62.
Pastor Cardwell served Victory Baptist for a number of years and had been a pastor for about two decades. He also worked as an insurance agent and mechanic and once owned A&M Tire Service in Blackshear. He was serving as pastor of Astoria Baptist Church near Waycross.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, from the Astoria Baptist Church.
