PCHS thinclads second in five-team home meet

BEARVILLE — Pierce County High School’s track teams finished a distant second to Jeff Davis in a five-team meet here Thursday at Pierce County Middle School campus track venue.

The Lady Yellow Jackets compiled 73 points to outdistance the Lady Bears’ 47. PCHS was followed by Wayne County (43), Tattnall County (30) and the Charlton County JV (13).

The Yellow Jackets made it a clean sweep easily outdistancing the field with 105 points. The Bears totaled 55. Trailing Pierce County were Tattnall County (40), Wayne County (37) and Charlton County’s JV (11).

The Lady Bears had two individual wins and another in the relays with the Bears capturing one event.

Olivia Bennett placed first in the 400-meter run with Azalea Mobley doing likewise in the long jump. The 4x400m relay team also post a first-place finish.

Amir McKenzie captured the boys’ high jump event.
